These materials aren’t just nice reading – they have the power to change the way you see life, to broaden and align your understanding with God’s immense wisdom. If truth can be described as riches, these resources are gold-mines.
Once you recognize God’s voice in a teaching or a story, stop and allow Him to speak to you through it. One word from Him will change your life!
The Normal Christian Life – Watchman Nee
This book clearly explains the transformation we go through when we trust God to forgive our sins and set us free from sin’s power itself!
Impact: I lost a perpetually nagging sense of deep shame as I saw myself not only forgiven of past moral failings, but permanently free from the power of sin over me. The same God who has the power to forgive also has the power to destroy the hold of the sin nature over us.
Experiencing Father’s Embrace – Jack Frost
If you want to hear God, imagine how it would be like to feel His love for you! He is so much closer and affectionate to you than you may know.
Impact: God isn’t angry with me. In fact, He isn’t even mildly irritated by me. He actually loves me deeply and unrelentingly. All He wants is for me to let Him. This reality sunk in as I read Jack’s book and I finally let God convince me that it was really true.
Christian Set Yourself Free – Graham Powell
If you long to be close to God but feel other forces resisting Him, this book will help you identify and get rid of these conflicting voices.
Impact: I thought I was going insane – sneering voices in my head, terror of others even looking at me. A revelation in this book permanently broke the lies I was believing. Instead of hiding from others, now I seek them out with God’s love.
Transforming the Inner Man – John & Paula Sandford
The comprehensive standard on inner healing from past failures and brokenness, forgiveness issues, neuroses, phobias, sexual sin, broken thinking and many other topics.
Impact: The authors identify three core truths from the Bible that correctly diagnose around 90% of the issues they have personally provided counsel for. I was guilty of all three. I’m so thankful for God’s forgiveness and this book’s accuracy.
The Final Quest – Rick Joyner
Multiple unfolding visions given to the author over a year are collected into a seamless allegorical description of the cosmic battle between light and darkness today.
Impact: The eternal perspective of this book – the smallness of our lives on earth and the grandness of what waits after our bodies fail us – moved me to tears. Let’s not waste this time we have here getting comfortable – let’s take up the quest that God has presented us!
Anointed For Burial – Todd & DeAnn Burke
This true story of the few years before Cambodia fell to Communist forces is packed with amazing miracles, supernatural events and more.
Impact: I was so inspired to believe God for anything after reading this amazing story.
Caveat: I understand that since this book was written in 1973, hard times saw the author turn away from listening to God’s voice. Please don’t let this affect your perspective of the book itself.
The Divine Romance – Gene Edwards
George Müller: Man of Faith and Miracles – Basil Miller
George Müller prayed about everything and expected each prayer to be answered. He was not disappointed – not even once. He set up five orphanages, all financially supported only by asking God to provide.
Impact: God is not limited by my need. He can do literally anything when I connect with Him in prayer. He tells us to ask and receive, so that we will fully experience joy.
